Happy Haunting Day!

If you've been with us for a while, you know

just how much Becky & I (Lynne) love Halloween.

It's amazing how much alike we are even

though our friendship is only a cyber one.

As a child, I would sit in front of a black & white 

TV watching Chiller Theater

In Becky's now-a-days, she gets

a kick out of movie night at her house

and some of what she watches is

Chiller Theater all over again.

Both of us love to read novels of the 

paranormal, ghost stories and books 

about anything with a spooky twist.

Our art reflects the love we have for the 

unseen, unknown and the faith that there

is an after life when our time here is done.

You will find us creating spooky art all

year long, not just for Halloween 

because we love it so much.

Becky tells this story...

Journaling is such a wonderful way 

 to express yourself. It is calming and enjoyable 

just to create! There is no right or wrong way 

to journal. I started with a 

Watercolor book with blank pages. 

 I take each journal packet and cut it all out. 

Then when I have time I lay out each page 

and start to glue. I put my journal on 

white pages and I like the collage look. 

I then add bits of washi tape, papers, 

scrapbooking bits, whatever makes the page 

look right to me. I then sit back with a black 

and white markers and begin to doodle in all 

of the spaces I think need a doodle. 

When I am finished I use a bit of white 

gesso and brush on in a few places. 

I go back and doodle again if needed. 

Easy Peezy! 

 Remember there is no right or wrong 

way to express yourself through journaling. 

 Find your niche and go with it!

iPad and iPhone Artsy Apps!

Many artists these days are on the run and

 using apps has increased our productivity.

We all have our favorites but seem to return

to the ones we love the best.

Peggi Meyer Graminski & I (Lynne) came up with 

a short list of our favorite art apps to use on 

an iPhone or an iPad. If you have an iPad, 

the iPhone apps do work. 

Not all of them are free  & some have in-app 

purchases but I don't think I've ever spent 

more than $5 for any of these apps. 

So here's our list:

As long as you save your work, you can always 

open it up in another app and add to it. 

Some of these apps allow you to simply hop

from one app to another in their list 

but saving each semi-finished photo 

to your Camera Roll is the best course of action.

The photo at the top was created from scratch

in Master FX then saved & opened again

in Mystic. I might even open it in something else

to add some cool frame later on. If you use your

apps often enough, you know what each one does

so you can just keep adding until you get the

effect that you were hoping for.

I'm sure there are apps for the Android

so go take a look at the app store for

your particular device.

The Final Day of the Digital Whisper Blog Hop!

Welcome to the final day of the

The first art work is by Becky. Becky loves

to combine images from her personal 

collections to her collages and always adds 

the most interesting frames! Becky's style

of art is so unique that it's her signature -

you can always spot Becky's beautiful work!

The second art is by Lynne...

The background image was created

by taking a photo with her iPad's

cover closed so the photo was black.

She opened up an app called WowFX

and applied fireworks to the black

background. Saving the image, she 

opened the fireworks image in an app

called Filter Mania 2 and added more 

effects. Saving that image she then opened

it in and app called Tangled FX which 

made the final effect. 

Transfered to the computer with 

Photo Sync and opened in Photoshop CS6,

the woman was added as a new layer.

Digital Whisper Blog Hop Day Two!

Welcome Day Two of the 

Digital Whisper Blog Hop!

Our offering for the Blog Hop

today is by Lynne, one half of

MoonlightJourney.

The image was totally created

in an iPad app called Filter Mania 2.

Lynne & Becky both LOVE apps 

because they afford us the opportunity

to create art wherever we happen to 

be at the time. We believe between the 

two of us, we own most of the art apps

available in the Apple App Store!!

After the image was created Lynne 

transferred it to her computer via 

another app called PhotoSync.

Lynne wanted to make the final image

measure 8 x 10 so it needed a frame.

Creating a new document in 

Photoshop CS6, the transparent 

layer was filled with a pattern (.pat file)

then she imported the main photo as

a new layer. Poof! All done!!
